BBQ Chicken/Turkey

BBQ Chicken or Turkeytick-150x150[1]      Serves 2-3  

  • 3 chicken/turkey breasts cut into strips
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  1.  Place the slow cooker on High. Put in the chicken/turkey. Add the onion.
  2. Place the rest of the ingredients in a saucepan and heat to boiling.
  3. Remove and pour over the chicken and onions. Mix well.
  4. Cook on high for 1 hour, then turn to low for 5-6 hours.
  5. Remove the lid and leave to cook for another 30 minutes to thicken.
  6. Serve with either rice or over jacket potatoes.

This gives off the most amazing aromas whilst cooking. My husband kept asking what time it would be ready. (He loved the taste so much, he licked the bowl!!!)
